2010 Twilight Trail 8K

Established in 2009, Cleveland Plays Racing is a subsidiary of the hugely popular sport and social club, Cleveland Plays, Inc. It is owned by John Teel, owner of Cleveland Plays, Inc. and Kate Pophal, owner of Perfect Pace Running, LLC.

The Twilight Trail 8k race was established by Kate in 2006 after she started the Second Sole Striders running club out of Lyndhurst. "I intended for the race to be a competition between running clubs - NERC, Vertical, Fleet Feet and all the others. North Chagrin is my favorite park in Greater Cleveland and wanted to compete on its trails with others clubs. I have XC skiied, sledded, biked, roller bladed and run thousands of miles in the gorgeous park throughout the seasons since I was a toddler. The park required I only allow a certain number of runners on the course at a time; thus the staggered start. I have always supported Rape Crisis Centers by volunteering or donating after my roommate was sexually assaulted in college. Come support the race and enjoy a beer and Dewey's Pizza with me post race.'

The course is 8k/4.9 miles, 99% of course on dirt bridle trails, crosses one stream and has one major & many minor rolling hills, RFID timing for accurate results.

Race day registration $25; only 300 runners accepted

Staggered start by age and sex, $5 donation to CRCC will jump your starting time by one bracket

Each person in the team category runs the entire 8k

Race day registration starting at 5:00 PM, closes at 6:30PM at North Chagrin Reservation

On line registration closes at 12 noon on race day

10% of race registration to be split between 1st & 2nd place individuals and teams (5 categories) 1st place - 12%, 2nd place 8%

$2 non-refundable registration fee is added to the entry fee



Directions: I90 from east or west, exit Rt. 91 (SOM Center Rd), go left or south on Rt. 91, left or east on Chardon Rd./Rt. 6, right or south on Chagrin River Rd., 1/2 mile past Squires Castle on right, called River Grove or go to http://www.clemetparks.com/visit/index.asp?action=rdetails&reservations_id=1002 or go 271 to Wilson Mills exit, head east on Wilson Mills, go over SOM Center Rd or Rt. 91, take a left on Chagrin River Rd., head North for about 1.5 miles. River Grove will be on the left. If you see Squires Castle, you have gone too far.
